Subscription Terms
These Subscription Terms apply when you start, renew, change, cancel, or manage a paid ALISA (formerly ARIA) plan. ALISA is provided by Madd Technologies LLC ("Madd Technologies", "we", "us", or "our"). These Subscription Terms are part of the Terms of Use, and you agree to them when you agree to the Terms of Use in the app. Words defined in the Terms of Use have the same meaning here.
1. Plans and what the purchase screen shows
ALISA offers paid plans, currently Basic, Standard, and Pro, billed monthly or yearly. Plans differ in their features and limits, such as the number of connected inboxes, email drafts, call minutes, and other features.
Before you buy, the purchase screen shows the plan, the price and currency, the billing period, that the subscription renews automatically, and how to cancel. The purchase screen may be ALISA's plan screen together with the Apple App Store payment sheet, or Stripe Checkout on the web. If the purchase screen or the store's terms for a transaction differ from the general description here, the terms shown for that transaction apply to its billing.
2. Who bills you
Where you buy decides who bills you and where you manage the subscription:
- In the iOS app, subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store, under Apple's terms. Apple handles payment, renewal, cancellation, and refunds.
- On the web at https://www.ariaassistant.ai, subscriptions are billed by Madd Technologies through our payment processor, Stripe. You manage them in ALISA's billing settings, which open Stripe's billing portal.
- The Android app does not sell subscriptions. A subscription bought in the iOS app or on the web gives access in the Android app.
ALISA uses the status that Apple or Stripe reports to decide whether your account has paid access. A subscription gives access on every platform where you sign in to the same ALISA account, but you must manage it with the provider that bills it.
3. Automatic renewal
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or yearly, until you cancel it. Each time it renews, you are charged the price for your plan shown when you bought it (or a new price you were told about and, where required, agreed to, under section 8), plus any taxes, using the payment method on file with Apple or Stripe.
- App Store subscriptions renew unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple charges your Apple account within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Web subscriptions renew on the renewal date shown in ALISA's billing settings and in Stripe's billing portal. Stripe charges your saved payment method on or about that date.
We, Apple, or Stripe may send you a receipt or reminder before or after a renewal, as the law requires.
4. How to cancel
You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals.
- App Store: on your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose ALISA, and tap Cancel Subscription. You can also go to Settings in ALISA, where the billing section links to Apple's subscription management, or follow Apple's cancellation instructions.
- Web (Stripe): in the ALISA web app, open Settings, go to billing, and choose to manage your subscription. Stripe's billing portal lets you cancel online. You can also ask us to cancel through https://www.maddtechnologies.com/contact/.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep paid access until then, and you are not charged again. Deleting the app, signing out, or disconnecting a provider does not cancel a subscription.
Deleting your ALISA account: as part of account deletion, we cancel any web subscription billed by Stripe and submit a refund for the unused, prorated part of the current period to your original payment method. Your payment provider determines when the refund appears. If billing cleanup fails, account deletion does not complete and the app tells you to contact support before retrying. We cannot cancel App Store subscriptions for you: before your account is deleted, ALISA asks you to confirm that you understand an App Store subscription continues until you cancel it with Apple.
5. Free trials and introductory offers
- ALISA sign-up trial. New accounts may get a one-time 7-day trial of the Basic plan. It does not ask for a payment method, does not turn into a paid subscription, and is never charged. When it ends, paid features stop until you buy a plan.
- Store or checkout offers. If we offer a free trial or an introductory price through the App Store or Stripe Checkout, the purchase screen shows how long it lasts, what you will be charged when it ends, and when. Unless you cancel before the trial or introductory period ends (for the App Store, at least 24 hours before), the subscription continues at the regular price shown. Each account can use a given offer only once.
6. Plan changes
You can upgrade or downgrade where ALISA offers it:
- App Store: Apple decides when an upgrade or downgrade takes effect and how any unused time is credited, following Apple's rules for subscription groups.
- Web: changes are made in Stripe's billing portal, which shows the price and any prorated charge or credit before you confirm.
ALISA updates your access once Apple or Stripe confirms the change.
7. Usage limits, add-ons, and overage
- Plans include usage limits, such as email drafts, call minutes, and connected inboxes. Allowances reset at the start of each usage period shown in ALISA's billing settings, and unused allowance does not carry over.
- On the web, some plans can buy add-ons, such as an extra connected inbox. If ALISA offers extra call minutes beyond a plan's allowance, you can turn them off or set a monthly cap. The price of an add-on, and whether it recurs, is shown before you buy it.
- If you reach a limit and have not bought more, the related feature pauses until the next period or until you upgrade.
8. Price changes
We may change the price of a plan or add-on. We will tell you at least 30 days before a price increase applies to your subscription, in the app and by email, and Apple may also notify you.
- A new price applies from your next renewal after the notice period, not to a period you have already paid for.
- Where the law or the store requires it, you must agree to the new price before it applies. If you do not agree, your subscription ends at the end of the current period.
- If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before the renewal on which it would first apply.
9. Taxes
Prices may not include sales tax, VAT, GST, or similar taxes. Apple or Stripe calculates and collects the taxes that apply where you live, and your receipt shows them.
10. Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, Apple or Stripe may retry it, ask you to update your payment method, and place the subscription in a grace period. ALISA may keep your paid access during that grace period. If payment still fails, paid features stop until the subscription is active again.
11. Refunds
- App Store purchases are refunded only by Apple, under Apple's policies. You can request a refund at https://reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases.
- Web purchases: when you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you paid for, and we do not refund the rest of that period, except as described in section 4 for account deletion, in section 12, or where the law requires a refund. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us through https://www.maddtechnologies.com/contact/ and we will review your request.
- If a payment is refunded, reversed, or disputed, we may remove the paid access it paid for.
12. Your right to withdraw (EU, EEA, and UK consumers)
If you are a consumer in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom and you buy a subscription on the web, you generally have 14 days from the purchase to withdraw from the contract without giving a reason. Paid features start as soon as your purchase is confirmed. If you withdraw within the 14 days, we will refund what you paid. We may deduct a proportionate amount for service provided before your withdrawal only where the law allows it, including any requirement that you expressly requested the service to start during the withdrawal period and received the required information. Starting to use ALISA does not, by itself, waive your statutory withdrawal right. To withdraw, email support@maddtechnologies.com or use https://www.maddtechnologies.com/contact/ with a clear statement that you are withdrawing. App Store purchases follow Apple's withdrawal and refund process, subject to mandatory consumer rights.
13. Notices for automatic renewal laws
Some states, including California and New York, require specific disclosures for automatically renewing subscriptions. In summary:
- your subscription continues until you cancel it;
- it renews each month or year, as you chose, at the price shown at purchase or a new price you were notified of under section 8;
- you can cancel online at any time, as described in section 4, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period;
- where a free trial or introductory offer converts to a paid subscription, we or the store will tell you before it converts where the law requires.
14. Changes to these Subscription Terms
We may update these Subscription Terms. Material changes follow the notice process in section 17 of the Terms of Use: we tell you in the app, by push notification, and by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and ALISA asks you to agree to the new version. Other changes take effect when we publish them with a new version date and an in-app notice. A change never affects a period you have already paid for.
